II. JAIME ANDREU, born on Alayor was a colonist on the estate known as BINIHAC. In the countryside of Menorca there are many estates that, like this one, still preserve their Arabian names, given before the Crestian request (is this supposed to be conquest?) of 1287. The prefix BINI is one of the most common; it is the plural form of BEN, meaning son. Therefore, in this case BINIHAC signifies an estate of the children or the family of a Moor named Hae (Hac?) The bad condition of many pages of the oldest books of the parish of Alayor prevent us from deciphering the date of his birth (we guess above 1570) and of his marriage to MARTINA COLL. They continue the direct line that we historied. On each generation we’ll underline the names of those that continue this branch.
On July 25, 1619, after receiving the sacraments, SEN (title given indiscriminately to all, as opposed to MOSSEN, which was reserved as previously stated for persons of distinction) Jaime Andreu was buried in the FOSSAR cemetery next to the parochial church.
